Recent evidence shows that giving a strong recommendation for HPV vaccination at age 9 will increase vaccine completion success, increase on-time vaccination coverage, and may help prevent more cancers. In recognition of April as Oral Cancer Awareness Month, come hear the latest on HPV vaccine effectiveness and learn strategies on how to increase vaccination coverage and address vaccine hesitancy. Learners will be able to describe recent evidence for HPV vaccine effectiveness; discuss rationale for starting HPV vaccination at age 9; identify strategies to increase on-time vaccination coverage and develop Motivational Interviewing skills to reassure, listen to, and engage hesitant families.
