  • Airway Centered Orthodontic Practice looking for a motivated, innovative, and growth-minded Orthodontist to join our thriving, busy orthodontic practice

    Lewiston, ID

Description: Airway Centered Orthodontic office looking for a motivated, innovative, and growth-minded Orthodontist to join our thriving and very busy orthodontic practice. Looking for an Associate who will hopefully transition into a partnership and later purchase the practice within the next 10 years.

“At Christensen Orthodontics, we provide airway-centric orthodontic treatment. This allows us to look beyond teeth, helping to restore optimal health and oral function to each patient.” –Our Mission Statement

In 2019, Dr. Christensen received Diplomate status with the ASBA (American Sleep and Breathing Academy). He is one of six orthodontists in the country with this status from the ASBA. Being Board Certified in sleep medicine (ASBA) has completely changed the way that we look at a patient. The underlying cause of all orthodontic problems is the airway. There is now technology to grow adult jaws and improve airways along with improving sleep apnea. No other orthodontist in our region does what we do. Dr. Christensen focuses on the airway first and then the straight teeth and beautiful smile follow. In dentistry and orthodontics, there is a movement towards focusing on early, preventive treatment. By developing the jaw structure at an early age, and using a child’s natural growth to our advantage, we can address these concerns and provide our children with a healthier future. Through functional airway-centric orthodontics, we can address airway problems and, by extension, increase the amount of oxygen a patient receives, reduce the number of times they wake up every night and treat issues like sleep apnea. We treat all stages of life from infants to the elderly and provide surgical treatment of patients relating to airways, i.e., tongue and lip tie revision, surgical uncovering of impacted teeth, gingivectomy, etc.

The City of Lewiston, Idaho sits at the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater rivers and adjacent to Clarkston, Washington. The cities were named to honor the encampment of Lewis and Clark during their expedition to the Pacific Ocean. Today, Lewiston and Clarkston are known as the gateway to Hells Canyon National Recreation Area. The Snake River created Hells Canyon, North America’s deepest gorge. You can enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the canyon on one of the region’s regular boat tours, experience the thrill of whitewater rafting or jet boating, or view the myriad of wildlife, and geological and historical sites along the canyon walls and shores of this national destination. Known as the “Banana Belt of the Pacific Northwest,” the mild weather in the Valley offers extensive year-round outdoor activities such as golf, fishing, strolling the miles of riverfront levee pathways, running, biking, beaches, RV and waterfront parks, wineries, and ongoing planned community events.
Lewiston provides private and public education with seven elementary schools, two junior high schools and two high schools, Lewiston High School in Idaho, and Clarkston High School in Washington. These schools provide education from kindergarten through high school. Lewis-Clark State College is an accredited four-year institution offering undergraduate programs in the liberal arts and sciences, as well as professional and technology. Walla Walla Community College has become an educational and cultural center for Southeastern Washington. University of Idaho, Moscow, and Washington State University, Pullman are both within 40 miles of Lewiston.

Dr. Christensen supports many local community organizations including 4-H, Boys and Girls Club, AAU team sponsorships, VYSA and Valley Thunder Soccer teams, DECA, and FFA to just name a few. Dr. Christensen and his family believe it is important to give back to the community and support local kids and different activities that help to develop productive people for the future. With Dr. Christensen’s incorporation of sleep medicine, Christensen Orthodontics has grown, and we are now treating on average seventy-five to ninety patients a day. With this growth, Dr. Christensen is looking for a motivated, innovative, and growth-minded individual to join his Practice. He is looking for an Associate who will hopefully transition into a partnership and later purchase the practice within the next 10 years.
