Minimally Invasive Dentistry Training

IPCA is hosting a Minimally Invasive Dentistry Training this year in Northern Idaho. Completion of the course will help attendants understand bioactive methods, materials and strategies for caries arrest and prevention that are medical vs. surgical. The course will also provide attendants with tools to help guide and train other dentists and non-dentists in the correct way to apply dental medicines for dental disease control with subsequent referrals for further restorative care if indicated. Upon completion of the course, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Completion awarded CE hours. 

Who should attend: This training will be beneficial for the entire dental team, such as, but not limited to dentist providers, RDHs and assistants.

Training Dates & Content:

  • Day 1: Didactic Training including hands -on segment - Thursday, June 9th | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM PT
  • Day 2: Patient Treatments - Friday, June 10th| 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM PT

Learning Objectives:

  • Develop a strong understanding of silver and fluoride ions as medicine
  • Recognize the most important protocols necessary for success when using Glass-Ionomers to heal and restore teeth
  • Understand the combination-therapy for the medical management of caries
  • Identify how Silver Modified Hall (SM-Hall) can provide a better, cost-effective way to control and prevent recurrent caries than conventional Hall
  • Compare case studies to be presented on Hall, SM-Hall and GI Strip Crowns
