ISDA Committees
Importance of ISDA Committees
ISDA committees play a crucial role in charting the course of ISDA’s efforts. Individual members are encouraged to contact their component trustees to weigh in on the critical matters discussed in board meetings. Committees are essential in studying materials and recommending them to the board. The trustees then take the information they’ve gathered from their constituents to inform their decisions. The committees are tasked with exploring industry collaboration, knowledge sharing, and thought leadership. By addressing key issues and challenges facing the profession, ISDA committees help ensure that the organization considers all applicable information before presenting motions to the board. The concept is to promote efficiency, transparency, and stability.
Committee Membership
Committee appointments are made by the ISDA President, often with the consent of the existing committee’s chairperson. Contact ISDA's executive director to submit your name for consideration.
Committee Operations
Each ISDA committee operates differently based on its charter. Some hold regular meetings and teleconferences, while others meet infrequently and as needed. The ISDA staff tries to publish the meeting schedule on the events page.
