Give Kids A Smile 2014

Dentists and their staff volunteer their time and provide free screenings, cleanings and treatments to Idaho’s uninsured children during the Give Kids A Smile program.

Idaho Dentists provided free treatments to about 1,200 children during February last year and expect to treat about 1,500 this year.

The American Dental Association launched the Give Kids A Smile program nationally in 2003 as a way for dentists across the country to join with others in their community to provide dental services to underserved children. The program initially began as a one-day event in February, but has since grown to local and national events.

In 2014 the Idaho State Dental Association, with funding provided by the Idaho Dental Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities, will be assisting seven local regions throughout Idaho.

The Idaho State Dental Association works closely with local health organizations to include Idaho children in the program by sending nearly 70,000 flyers home with kids from 85 school districts throughout Idaho.
